Treatment of acne scarring with a novel fractionated, dual‐wavelength, picosecond‐domain laser incorporating a novel holographic beam‐splitter

Laser‐induced optical breakdown (LIOB) of tissue has been used in ophthalmology since the early 1980s, where the lack of light absorption by many structures of the eye requires optical breakdown to elicit a laser treatment effect, as opposed to thermal breakdown by selective absorption of energy by chromophores within tissue.
